I cannot believe how impatient this comment section is If you need instant gratification just read porn I beg of you because I (and I’m sure a lot of readers) have been waiting for a well written BL with this sort of plot. I promise you, the slow burn is earned and the story (at least in the novel) is so well thought out that it would be a waste to skip out on the world building and politics/action just to see them kiss a bit faster.

right? like i dont even read this (ill start soon i promise) but we're only 48 chapters in and thats honestly nothing. i personally prefer stories like this, where the romance is a nice subplot that still fits the story. hell my favorite bl's 77 chapters in and they havent even held hands. if ppl need constant romance just read smth else. multiple genres are allowed to coexist within the same story ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ
Exactly, I am HERE for a fantasy story with good world building and a strong story. The romance being as incredible as Kishiar and Yuder’s is the cherry on top but what makes this story so peak is that even without the romance the story is interesting (don’t get me wrong though, the romance is INTEGRAL to Yuder’s arc and one of the best examples of a couple who is better and more interesting together than apart I could gush about them forever)
