He’s being cruel af but that’s so teenager to throw Taegun’s kindness back in his face when he’s this overwhelmed.
I think people forget that emotions feel so much stronger when you’re a teen. Especially a suicidal teen who just lost his whole family He’s not considering consequences right now; he might not be here tomorrow etc.
So based of the author to actually grapple with the power imbalance here. Despite being literally stronger than Eunsung, Taegun is his subordinate and literally needs Eunsung to survive. He’s right to be worried, especially given his history. All we can ask of Eunsung is to respect his boundaries which I (hope) think he will do.
It’s so rare in fiction to see this sort of power dynamic actually being acknowledged in the plot

I love how every character in this story is layered. Even Shuri’s brother is given some humanity in her final thoughts about him. Good people have the capacity for cruelty and bad people still have dreams and goals they are reaching for - even if they choose cruel means to get there. I’d love to see more writing like this in manhwa in general.
There are things I like about it - the FL still loving the ML despite his personality change is heartwarming and nice. I like that the girlies besides the FL are powerful in this story without being evil and all in different ways. However, I don’t like the ML race swap the connotations are WILD, especially when the demon he merged with is white. Just give man black hair and a new hairstyle we can’t be acting like the dark skin isn’t an allegory for his loss of purity. Especially when he changes back (proving that the skin colour change isn’t a tan or something) and they talk about how angelic he is - yuck. Also the FL literally becoming shakespeare is cringe as hell I am sorry. Literally give her, her potion’s proficiency and have the shakespeare parody be someone she sponsors and occasionally pretends to be with their blessing. The FL is just so unrealistically perfect - she is charming, a natural potioneer, literally shakespeare, master schemer. Like, girl, have a flaw besides sometimes being nasty to men who deserve it and your selfish desire to survive(!!) which was resolved in chapter 1. There is so much potential here but the author fumbled with the two leads horrendously.

Honestly if this timeskip leads to sooae reconnecting with Dohwa leading her to choose him because she actually likes him I’d be satisfied by that twist. Unless Eunhyuk was in a literal coma there was no reason he couldn’t send her a text that he was leaving. I think it would be reasonable for her to fall for the person who would have always been there versus the person who left for 10 years that she was pining for.
Not that this will happen because manhwa is gonna manhwa, dark haired ML wins 80% of the time and doing shitty things to the FL is always justified because his feelings matter more than hers. (I like Eunhyuk, I don’t like this trope.)
