I just realized eclise is not that a bad person (i think?), hes an obsessive yandere boi. According to the spoilers, eclise go find the "real" duchess to replace and run away with penelope (since penelope planned to run away from the duchy along with eclise) but turns out, the duchess is possessed by a demon or sumtin. In my observation, eclise is just hungry for affection that penelope give him and that make him obsessed and do something stupid. War started and eclise almost lost his life and that also cost his memory loss.
