from what I understand is Jinwoo's wish is to go back to the past (rewind time) where the first time the humanity need to fight as a hunter and also he wishes for the burden of fighting the monster for him alone. this means no other human will have the power as a hunter to fight and so the world become "normal". so it's more like he never meet the friend he met during those dungeons whatever rather than they forgot him

I don't remember him dying. But the ending of the main story was that after jinwoo defeated the final boss, he asked those white creatures w wings/forgot their name to turn back time before the gates opened because millions of ppl died during the war. So jinwoo had to fight the war alone for 30+ yrs in a different dimension and the earth would be safe. After he was done with that only 2 yrs passed in earth so he transformed his body back into a teenager and tried to live as a normal teenager. Ofc everyone don't remember what he did bec based on that timeline, no gates opened, there were no hunters etc. on ur question on him becoming stronger, he did become more OP basically like a God

Not quite, it's been a while since I read the novel, so this might be slightly off, but from what I can remember he defeats the sovereigns but asks the rulers to rewind time again with the chalice so that he can save everyone who's died/been traumatized in the current world and so they can all lead a normal life without gates or monsters to worry about. The rulers agree and after time is rewound, he disappears for a few years in this new peaceful world to defeat the sovereigns again on his own and comes back, but since time has been rewound no one remembers him or any of his achievements and no one knows that he literally saved the world since in this world, magic, hunters, monsters, gates, none of that exists and he fights the sovereigns in an alternate dimension or something...He gets way stronger after he dies once, he's kinda reborn with the shadow sovereign's full power without the restriction of levels. Everything I've said above is towards the end of the novel, though a couple other things happen as well before the end. I can't really remember most of the details from the novel since it's been so long, so sorry if this answer is a bit confusing:)
