It feels empty and lacking for you bc you either didn’t read the story properly, or you didn’t understand it. Even tho the child has no blood relation to naguru there are many scenes where the kid feels connected to Okinawa, like when he was getting off the chair and felt the ocean under him.
The kid even tells naguru “I feel like I came from ur tummy” even tho they are not related.
It dosent’ matter where the kid is from because he came at a time where naguru needed him most, where he was feeling the most home sick and lonely. They served as support for each other and had a big effect on each other lives.
It is a plot hole, but its a plot hole that the author deliberately chose not to fill bc it emphasizes that family dosent always have to be traditional, and support and love is the most important thing.
If you really think the the origin of the kid not being known takes away from the story, then the issue isn’t that it’s empty and lacking, it’s that you don’t know how to appreciate less direct storytelling

Yeah, I think Hajin’s concept of Mr. Yeon is that he’s a very serious and hard worker, loyal friend close to Joo-an. So for him to completely block him, change his number, and not speak to Joo-an about him staying in Korea is so unfathomable, that Hajin can only assume and wonder what Joo-an did to hurt Seojoon that badly. He’s so nervous, you can see Hajin fidgeting when Seojoon says he has no need to update HJA about his whereabouts. He doesn’t know how his unrequited love, so can only guess that maybe Joo-an overworked him or treated him badly as an employee. Geonwoo will clarify Seojoon’s crush in the next chapter, but I think it was more an attempt to emotionally support and encourage his friend who is obviously very sad and looks like a shell of himself.
