Actually the reason why I support this ship is because this is supposed to be shounen ai so I'm expecting to see an mxm relationship. Although I dont support sungjoons actions I think that he'll redeem himself at some point ( or at least I hope).
sunjoon is no saint but I do not think people are only supporting him because it s a mxm relationship. he isn't just a one dimensional character that can just be written off as a bad apple, there is more to him.
Somi is not a bad person either, though she has made some mistakes (like reading Naru's messages) though nothing as bad as Sunjoon. But I also do not think Sunjoon would have been so hostile towards Somi if she had not started the conversation with him by accusing him of wrongdoing.
anyway, Sunjoon isn't perfect, far from it, but people like him because despite his cruel actions towards Naru his motive was love. he didn't want to hurt Naru but he also didn't want him to be taken away by someone else which is a feeling a lot of people can relate to.
I like Somi. I think she has been good for Naru so far in this story and personally I am not sold on the Sunjoon/Naru pairing yet but I think with enough character development for Sunjoon I could be. because while he has done bad stuff I don't think he is a bad person.
You literally are justifying toxic behavior by reshaping the narrative this way. Sunjoon actions are bad but he’s not bad for doing them is your explanation. So if Sunjoon killed someone out of love for Naru would he be good person then too in your eyes given his justification? There’s clear bias in excusing Sunjoon’s intent to sabotage Naru’s current and previous romantic relationships. I don’t mind Sunjoon gaining character development but the whole issue is what he’s done is awful. Both as a friend and potential love interest. Any sane person upon finding out what Sunjoon’s been doing would cut him out of their lives due to the betrayal and gaslighting Sunjoon’s been doing to Naru for years. The very foundation of their friendship has been built on Sunjoon manipulating Naru. I really worry how often people on this site just don’t understand what actual healthy relationships look like both romantic and platonic.
firstly there is a big difference between killing someone and sabotaging a blind date. But I doubt I really need to explain that because Im sure not even you believe they are equal. Secondly, Im just stating a fact. Sunjoon did what he did because he loves Naru. Im not reshaping anything and Im not justifying toxic behavior. In Sunjoon's mind he is saving Naru from the pain of a relationship failing due to his trauma. I mean, he literally says it. is that right? no, but that is what Sunjoon believes. It is because his actions are wrong that Sunjoon needs character development.
Sunjoon and Naru's relationship is build on trust, compassion, and understanding. It is precisely because their relationship is so strong that Sora cannot bring herself to out Sunjoon. The foundation of the relationship between all three of them is so strong that the pressure from what Sunjoon has done cannot break it.
For me personally, if I found out my friend was sabotaging my romantic relationships I would be more concerned as to why. When you care about someone why they do things really does matter.
its also a stretch to judge people's outlook of relationships based on reading fictional drama. I don't worry about other people's understanding of relationships because its none of my business and I would rather focus on my own relationships.

the only thing he ever sabotaged was the blind date and it's a good thing he did because the girl ditched Naru without a second thought , and I cant really blame him for ditching all the girls he went out with mainly because those girls went out with him because they found him hot which is just super vain . The whole story with Somi though is pretty bad but if their relation was really strong they would not have anything to fear , all he did was give bad advice and not telling them they loved each others which truthfully is not much if one of my friend did that because he loved me I would probably feel sorry for him not hate him for it .
