Probably I'm just stupid but, if kotofuji is not kotofuji and the real kotofuji who lived with tsuguyasu disappeared, who the hell is our kotofuji?
I don't understand (/TДT)/

I feel like its because there was so much emotion put into the painting of kotofuji, that it gained its own soul hence our kotofuji

To me he appears to be a tsukumogami, there's a lot of folk tales about them, it's kind of romantic *-*

I can't help but fall in love all over again with the art style. I love how much detailed this manga is, and the Canadian sceneries are breathtaking. Every time I read a new chapter I feel like going to Canada.

I know this is a work of pure fiction and all but please everyone keep in mind that if in mangas is "fine" doing whatever you want, in real life however the circumstances may be not listening to your partner (even during consensual sex) is a crime.
Cumming inside without the permission of the partner or without the partner knowing is considered rape, even if he consented for having sex. It's not like if they gave consent to sex you can do whatever you want.
Now, practice safe and healthy sex and have a nice day! ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

I want to start by saying that I really liked and appreciated this manga. Really really good.
I loved the way the author expressed the feelings, the emotions, the points of view of the characters.
Before saying anything and complaining we must keep in mind that this manga wants to focus on adolescence, first loves, first important choices of life (like uni), the thin line between friendship and love, the quarrels and misunderstandings in a group, breaking ups and making up, etc.. This manga wants to focus even on the discomfort of teenagers about their sexuality, the difficulties to admit you like the same sex, the questions you ask about this matter. As we can see Touma and Masumi have different ways in admitting and showing their sexual preferences.
All these things I just mentioned are the struggles everyone of us live/lived on daily basis during our adolescence.
This manga DOESN'T want to focus on purely homosexual relationships, doesn't want to satisfy our fujoshi hunger. And I'm saying this as a 22 yo fujoshi girl.
This manga ISN'T a shounen-ai, that was not the point. The fact that Taichi ended up with Touma only at the very end is the result of his choices, based on his experiences, his feelings and what he thought would be the happiness for his life. Does he know if this is the right choice? Of course not. At that moment he thought it was, and that is what matters.
On the contrary Masumi made her own choice based on what she thought would be the best choice; she decided to marry a man (I read comments who says he's a transgender but I don't have proof) Why? Maybe because she was scared of what the society might think, maybe because she opted for a 'normal' life style. We can't know, and we don't have the actual right to know. I mean, how many homosexual people married a person of the opposite sex? Why did they decide that? It's not up to us to know. Same goes for Masumi.
The fact that we don't know the exact details of the breaking up of Taichi and Futaba is because it was something they decided by themselves, there wasn't anything in particular to know. Just different goals, different paths. Exactly how it happens in real life.
The time skip of 7+ years was made because the author wanted to show the choices the characters made for their lives and their happiness, based on what we saw during their adolescence. Have you ever noticed the fact that for the whole story it was like we were actually living with the characters, just like we were part of their group? And then we all take different paths just to reunite after many years.
This is something that in real life happens very often, just like you meet by chance an old friend and you start talking about everything and then they says "You know, you remember A and B, they were dating during school.. I heard they broke up, but don't know the details" and you are just "Omg, how is that even possible! I assume that's life for you" this is how I imagined people talking about Taichi and Futaba.

Maybe the end was a little bit rushed, yes, and maybe I would have preferred Taichi end up with another unknown girl, which was more reasonable knowing his character.. But this is just MY opinion.
This manga is a real masterpiece that shows a precise cross-section of adolescent life in all its facets.
Well, if you read until this point I'll have to give you a medal ┗( T﹏T )┛
Thanks and have a nice day.
