Idk, I only read the first 20 chapters years ago when a group was doing a secret translation of the novel.
A lot of people are a bit put off by MC’s passive personality. I was too at first, but after a while I thought it mixed well with Aseph’s aggressive one. She’s that calm, soothing existence that a violent & traumatized soul needed. We all like strong female leads, but though she’s physically weak, she’s strong inside. I mean, she’s endured the pains from that mark. And she can handle Aseph’s mood swings. I think her passive nature is what lets Aseph open up to her easier, to put down his walls because she herself is vulnerable before him.

YES! Thank you! So what if she cries a lot? She’s an emotional character and it’s her feelings that allows her to endure and stay by his side. I think she is strong, she’s just not a super smart, cocky, foul mouth and physically strong person. She’s not a Mary Sue but for me is way more interesting.
I think it would have been fine if that personality wasn't so dependent on Azef. I'm put off by her because she is so depended on him, not because she is passive. The smallest things he did from the start could have made her break down and lose her sanity and. From one perspective yes, she is there for him but on the other hand...
Well I'm not complaining since I'm here by choice, but her obsession for him had more potential amd could be handled way more gracefully.
I did get drawn in my their deep connection...in the beginning instead of being lured by the focal point of the novel which is the heroine and her soul mate a banished prince...the goddess of love in that world knew that Ellizay would consider the whole of Aseph: the misery just below the surface, abandonment issues, fear of being used/abused, also that little bit of trust and kindness that is hidden away. But, I did wonder at times if she could have called him out on his lies in some way would that have made her too suspicious?...and forgetting such a pivotal scene as healing all of the scars seems a bit much for me but maybe the author has a plan for that later as the reason why Aspeh's mark doesn't show. Σ( ￣□￣||)
Ugh i love this MC her decision of not helping after being mistreated is so damn satisfying! Let that kingdom rot and rule another one. That hime can just flirt her way to destruction tsk.
I just really wanna know that the dumb emperor won’t marry Mia just cause of the legend. Or that Leana won’t develop feelings for him and get hurt seeing them together. Begone, spoiled assuming naive black haired ‘heroine’, it irks me so much just reading your scenes（￣へ￣）
They have potential to be a legendary duo. I mean, a starless and a broken slime, both considered the weakest of all, may be due to the fact that it’s so rare no one’s studied it yet. But perhaps they’re so special they could discover some revolutionary sht abt themselves. (Like if Sora can heal any wound or maybe even channel the effects of the “dump” potions he eats then he an OP slime that can prolly only be tamed by a starless).
