ao no flag is a really special manga to me, taichi is a really important character to me so being able to see and understand how kaito crafted the story, what he wanted to convey with it, and his thought process when doing so is amazing ㅠㅠ this really made the story even better for me.
i'm really grateful for the afterword but kaito why must u make me cry every time.

It's imbeded deeply into their instincts and souls.

i feel so sorry for both eris & helena, both of them are constantly forced to comply w things they're not comfortable with by men or other authority figures.
like, a lot of comments are hating on helena but she really has even less agency than eris, being a commoner and a palace maid. someone in the comments said they would have liked her to look ashamed of entering w the crown prince but we don't really know how she feels or what did he said to her to get to do that. so all in all she's also just a victim.
and even though eris can do more, she still has to follow the rules and expectations that society placed upon her.
honesty this is one of my favourite stories currently bc of how realistic it is in relation to how women were historical treated, even though it makes me feel hateful lol
it would be really nice if the others reading this could try to see things differently and not to pit the eris and helena against each other bc in reality the true villains are the crown prince, the empress and society itself
also, i know this is fiction but a lot of things seen in this can also be seen in real life so please try to be a little bit empathic towards the characters that clearly just victims
