But the silver haired girl has a sad backstory and I'm excited for mc to get her father's honor back when the shared research credit happen. I feel like it's developing to be mentor/father figure dynamic. As for the blond girlie, it's cute how she saw a vulnerable side of her stoic teacher (when he cried) and I think she has potential to be an even better character later... I don't see any romantic vibes except with his fiancé. But that's just me?

the consequence is supposed to be going crazy and giving up but our mc is an insane bastard, as insane as the rest of his squad, so he actually likes to suffer and push himself over the limit
He still needs to tell her he was hallucinating when he hurt her in prison, and she also needs to tell him she only said hurtful things to him to make sure he would leave her/avoid his death. But they are too troubled to say all that and I like it, also, ugly expressions on pretty characters is so refreshing to see
