-Mo backstory (which may or may not tie in w/ either He Tian, Jian Yi, etc) + He Tian comforting him which shows he does care and isn't that bad

I don't know if you are really caught up or reading the same thing, but there really has been quite some progress with both couples. Jian Yi just recently confessed his feelings to XiXi where he accepts it, although he still doesn't like Jian Yi that way yet. Mo and He Tian are getting closer though compared to before. Especially this latest chapter where Mo said He Tian's name for the first time.

Okay I didnt realize people would be so pressed about my comment (talking about the donvotes, not the replies) so lemme explain myself.

I said that because IMO, the chapters format isn't interesting anymore, considering how the mood of the story changed.
While it was still carefree, it was cool. There was minimal action and lots of fun going on, it was more of a "concept" thingie, so just eight pages was cool, and it achieved to manage some kind of cute suspens in the main characters relationship.
Then, drama happened and it was still okay, because the suspens was still here. It felt like this was becoming an actual story, so it was great!
And basically, you can see the story gradually fell into some kind of pattern: the characters' relationships are ambiguous and lowkey with this "brodude bromance" thing happening (even when Jian Yi came out to his best friend and their relationship evolved, it still felt like that imo it was so lowkey I had to squint to feel things were actually evolving). Then, drama happens, and some tragic backstory emerges, and is barely resolved. Now, you feel like their relationship will take turn, that theres going to be some improvement... But no, here comes the secondary couple's antics and their whole deal of drama! And it just repeats itself. Throw in some comical chapters (at this point they feel like fillers tbh) and there you go, a full arc. And at the end of each and every act, what do we get? a kiss on the forehead, a forced out date for comical relief, some mere hand action. The pacing is becoming slower and slower.The only major thing that happened in this story regarding the relationship was the confession. and guess what? It took 200 chapters. All that because the chapters are so short and because the author is trying to still get that comical feel to the story.
Considering how repetitive it gets + all the drama getting thrown in randomly (repeating itself too), imagine how many chapters we will have to read until we see them actually become a thing. Now if the main focus of the story wasn't their love story, then okay, don't mind me. But from the very beginning, the concept art was about them as a couple. I hope you can now see why this can get a little frustrating. Also I don't think the way too slow pace can be justified by some "sense of realism" considering that pretty much every situation in this manhua are far from realistic, and are either comical or angsty, but not relatable.
I've been following this story for a couple of years now, and I can't bring myself to be thrilled about what's next anymore. It all just feel like it's going in circle (and the action/moodis broken everytime by the chapters' length and the comical fillers), and I really, really hope I'm wrong and that there's gonna be some sort of big resolution to all the mess but or now I just feel lost and bored.

This is just my opinion and feelings about the story, I'm not saying the story is bad or not still enjoyable. Just not my thing anymore, because of all the reasons I listed above. Feel free to disagree, my opinion is subjective, don't come at me saying saying I'm wrong or whatever I'm too tired to argue, and my english skills are limited.
