to my fellow lgbt+ babies who are still in the closet: please only come out when you are ready and when you know you are SAFE. it may be hard to hold it in, but your safety is the number one priority. you will eventually find a place where you will be wholeheartedly accepted for who you are. sending you all love and strength <3333

god this story just hits too close to home... as a bisexual girl, i just pray to god that i end up falling in love with a man so i never have to deal with having to bring home someone of the same gender home to my family. coming out and confessing to someone of the same gender are so scary because it's still out of the norm, even in america, so i can't even imagine how it is in china (i apologize if this is an ignorant perspective! please call me out if it is!). but yeah, the newest chapter is just so real. strength to huan wen and that girl :(((

if you're an md stan, i know you're not gonna like this lmao but that's to be expected of this comment section at this point lmao. anyway, they did talk it out, but the vibe just put so much of the blame on chanwoo when md was the one who manipulated him lol. like don't get me wrong, i am happy for them that they're dating now and had any sort of discussion at all, but deep down, it's so hard for me to forgive md and forget about how he treated chanwoo like that. but good for them???

Yea, I felt the discussion was pretty one-sided. When chanwoo asked MD why he made him go through all that if MD wasn't going to take in another sub, MD's reply was just he wanted to see how chanwoo will react. That made MD seem pretty asshole-ish. (I'll be quite pissed if someone made me go through that and their explanation is just "I wonder how u would have reacted", like am I a joke to you?) And then he followed up with a remark that he know chanwoo with feel guilty for. It felt like MD was trying to get a free pass with whatever that he has done by making chanwoo feel guilty. Which feels manipulative.
I didn't like how the author chose to let MD reply that way, it's pretty obvious that MD let chanwoo went through that was not because of just pure curiosity. The discussion/conversation would have been balanced if MD replied with his true intention, thoughts and feelings to that question. Instead the issue was glossed over, like the ones before, and the character development I got from this is MD is kinda manipulative but a good guy? and chanwoo got a non-abusive boyfriend but still insecure and scared so he does dumb thing? Hopefully there are more side chapters to patch this ending up cause rn it's pretty poorly concluded

look, i for one am ALL about character development and believing that people CAN change from a problematic past. and honestly, i think mcqueen did a good job of really realizing and rationalizing his mistakes and trying to make up for them but... it all seems a bit abrupt. i don't know how to feel about mcqueen after he did all of that shit and all of a sudden we're supposed to root for him and want him and ed to get back together? as much as i want to believe that, it just feels wrong for ed to forgive him so quickly. i guess love is blinding? i'm not sure.

This is the most recent comment from someone who has read the novel, you can ask them how to get it.
