I actually prefer Dowun. I don't believe he sees her as "thing"/object. He is the type of ppl who set a goal and will do whatever he needs to do to make it happen, he is cold blooded but the firts "hit" for his feelings for the queen started with the were kinds, when they were practicing for the first time with the blades, also he only is nice to her and take her point of view into consideration. You can't said he ever abuse her, and he isn't deceive her... yes he is an ass but he is a nice ass.
Also a good example of this type of char is in "Suddenly Became a Princess" our beloved and asshole king :v
