Not really. If you re-read you see that the OG already had an awful personality before that woman came. What the prospect stepmother did was manipulate her so their opinions of her would worsen even more.
The Og had psychological problems even before it all and pushed them away instead. It's easy to blame the family when you have no experience on dealing with someone like the Og.
Btw. I'm not victim blaming the Og on being abused. Just pointing there were many factors that led to her death and not just her family's fault. Also. They didn't know about the abuse.

they DID know about the abuse. but they didnt like her back then because she was "useless" and like a disgrace to the family so they left her alone. i know her death was because of other things too, but them neglecting her being abused because "she deserved it" is unsettling. they only NOW change their attitude because shes actually useful. NO ONE DESERVES ABUSE

You should really read the first chapters again. They didn't know. They didn't because all the maids were under the stepmother an the OG Senniana never admitted or asked for help. One time the mc talked normally with them and showed about the rotten food they believed her.
She was a disgrace to the family. That's not questionable. And it was not because she was abused but because of her personality. The Og brought it upon herself and the stepmother took advantage of it.

You see it's easy to condemn them for neglecting her an all else but... The OG had some serious problems. And by that flashback of the brother she also didn't seem any nice. So... I'll be honest with you about people with serious issues like the OG.
First. If they don't actively seek help it's hard to know they are needing it. Even more so if they have an history of bad behavior including tantrums and being antisocial. With someone abusing them and manipulating them like her case things get even worse.
Second. People really don't know how fricking hard is to love someone who's that deep in psychological problems. The instability of their emotional state is no joke. It's easy to tell people they must help, support and be there for them when you don't know how hard is to be beside them through it all.
Third. Being family is not enough of a reason to demand unconditional love. Yes they didn't like the OG. And she gave them the reasons for that. Even before the depression and abuse she had a bad personality and was aggressive. But even so her family raised her with the best and if she had shown them the abuse without being hysterical even once they'd be on her side. Honestly they loved her way more than the MC original father.

The Og needed help. Medical help. That is true. But it's also true she was a toxic person and needing help is no excuse for it. Family love wouldn't heal the OG. Her problems didn't stem from it, the MCs trauma did so to her it is helpful. At first I really disliked the family but as they talk and show bits and pieces of the OG I understood. It's not that her family hated or didn't love her. They gave up on her, and I'll tell you, that's a hard thing to do...
Stop using the fact the stepmother abused her and her family didn't notice to justify all sheets the Og has done before that.

they did actually know tho. the brothers admitted it and knew they fucked up. you say that you're not victim blaming but you ARE. they knew, not EVERYTHING, but they KNEW some things. and they chose not to do anything. a person doesnt have to be family to protect someone from abuse. it takes BASIC HUMAN DECENCY. and they had NONE of that. im sorry but please stop with blaming this on her being "too difficult to handle" and "too hard to love"

I dont think they knew completely what was going on and tbh its not entirely the familys fault.

No, the person who went crazy shown in the beginning is probably jeremy. He delayed his wedding before she showed up as well so there were probably nasty rumors in the high society regarding their relationship. Plus, I think he had feelings for her as well.
