Masahito could have easily won over Kasahara. His relationship was technically stronger. He CHOSE to let Kasahara go BECAUSE he loved him that much -- but he didn't love him as much as Kasahara loved Soji.
Kyouichi is the biggest piece of dogsh*t, dirty douche nozzle, c*ck-sucking, t*tty-f*cking, two-balled b*tch and doesn't deserve the d*ck the Goddess graced him with!! He claims to be straight but why is it...he could "get it up" for Imagase but when he tried to sleep with Natsumi after they broke up he remained limp? If a guy isn't "turned on" - short of a vacuum and rubber band - you could beat his d*ck like it owed you money and it wouldn't get hard. I don't think there was a happy ending here at all...his last thoughts (white Kyouichi) are about how, if he treats Imagase like a woman, he will realize that women are better. DOUCHE BAG-asaurus REX!!
That said... THIS MANGA WAS AWESOME!! It was so well written that I vehemently, venomously HATE a fictional character. THAT is the mark of a talented writer.

Coming from a medical background, I hesitate to read manga about doctors - usually. I'm pleased to say that this manga was well researched and well written. (well translated too - medical terminology can't be easy to translate, unless you are in the field.) Sensei drew me into the story and characters well enough that I was angry at Natsumi's indecisiveness and lack of courage to stand up for himself. Then, I was proud of him when he did.
I could not get angry at Natsumi for his indecisiveness and lack of courage because to me they were logical. Every time he tried to grow or assert his views or something, he would get shotdown by Takabe. Even as going as far as suckerpunching him when he was at his lowest.
So Takabe angered me more. Saying that he loves Natsumi and so on, when he only supported him as long as it was beneficial to himself.
So I liked the fact that Natsumi, despite having the people he hold most dear against him, he was able to grow.
And I agree with you, the translation was amazing. I like the fact that they didn't just say "I don't understand this I'm not gonna translate it" as I saw in too many translations. And I also like that the mangaka did a thorough research in the subject since every time I see a doctor portrayed in any media they usually jump the shark and it just makes me lose interest in the whole plot.
Because HOLY SHIT SNACKS that was HOT & SWEET. Big, badass guys going at it like bunnies is AWESOME!
The art isn't my cup of tea but this story is INCREDIBLE!! So true to life in the time it was set. So much going on but it never feels confusing or cluttered. A heart wrenching life story with a believable plot and touching characters. It even comes with an HEA.
My kids watched this anime and my favorite character was Hisoka... so, this just made my day!! Always figured Gon and Killua would hook up somewhere. LOL
SERIOUSLY? 24 pages of scanlation ads?! ( chapter 0 - Vol. 1) I totally respect, admire and appreciate ALL the hard work the scanlation groups put into the manga we read here. However, isn't 4 pages of each ad a bit excessive?? Perhaps the QC'er was sick the day it was sent for upload or elves found the file and uploaded it ... still, the file has 24 pages of ads and they are not even 24 separate images (like birthday or holiday greetings) but rather 4 copies of the same 6 images!! I actually thought all 204 pages were going to be like this and almost gave up bothering to read the manga because the whole first volume would be missing. Luckily my masochistic streak kicked in and I decided to keep clicking!!

I've read plenty of compiled manga... the credits still fall between chapters. This was a simple file oversight. Folders were placed in the uploaded file instead of individual credits files. Likely a new person not being aware of the difference between the two. I've never seen it before, or since, with this group so I assume they (the new person) learned from the mistake. Can't really ask for more than that, can you?

That is the Idea... To portrait women as psycho bitches so you end up saying that kind of thing. At the end, most of the readers forgive the seme for being abusive, but hate "the bitch" in the story, who actually didn't do too much.
I agree on one point and disagree on another. You said, "The bitch... didn't do too much"? Did we read the same manga? She was controlling and manipulative of Ryou and heartless and cruel to Akio. Had she not selfishly manipulated a dimwit with a pretty face like Ryou, for her own ends, Akio would not have suffered through the initial break up and Ryou might have held on to his sanity. I'm not saying Ryou wasn't to blame for his actions, but Tae was the catalyst behind every moment of hell Akio faced. She was even the impetus behind Ryou's deluded attack. She said, "I don't want to lose you. So, if you love me just kill me." Ryou, in his delusion, then takes her words and applies them to the one he truly loves, Akio. When faced with her misdeeds, she runs like a scalded dog, at least Ryou attempted redemption. So, IMO, she did quite a lot.
Unless you were referring to other bitches in other yaoi who did far less than Tae, in which case, please forgive my rant.
As for the portrayal of women in yaoi, you are correct. They are convenient plot devices to create conflict and tension for the protagonists. I would just prefer they be portrayed as a bit more sane, tolerant or understanding. Not all three, just one would do. I've read manga where a female rival was all of those things and still managed to create conflict and tension. So, I know it can be done. It's the extremes that I find offensive. I could go on for pages, but I will end with: I completely agree with your assessment of this part of the topic. Your assessment was right on the money and well written.

When Gin & Ei are talking in the restaurant about adipose and cadavers!! My anatomy professor was a bit twisted & liked to teach using cadavers. He would always invite anyone who wanted to discuss the days lesson, out to eat after class. So, a group of college kids and a professor would be discussing the latest cadaver we disected
