Tbh I dropped POTN some time ago. Imo he’s way beyond redemption. I know he has bad past but since it doesn’t justify villains in normal stories why should it justify him? I did read it till bath chapter and imo he did not change at all, he still doesn’t care about Nakyums decisions and forces his own on him. If he really changed and loved him he would have given him an option of freedom. Also what they have will never be love, it’s a Stockholm Syndrome. I hate when people ship them, it’s just messed up. And I think he’s way worse then this ML (which also might have a past we don’t know about), since the amount of rape, torture and abuse he put Nakyum through is not even comparable to this ML, a whole different scale. I’ve seen the interview with an author and she said she just likes abuse and would’ve put more of it to the story of fans weren’t so mad about it. I think it would’ve been good if he had character development when Nakyum was kidnapped (like Nakyum would be almost killed, he understood his mistakes and had regre route (which he doesn’t have and that’s the main reason I dropped it, he just got everything so easy after so much shit he did)). Personally I think that story is trash and I dropped because of how much it and fans have sexualized, romanticized and normalized abuse, rape and toxic relationships, which personally disgusts me and I cannot stand it. Also the reason why I stopped reading Yaoi. I cannot describe the amount of hate I have for Painter Of The Night and Yours to Claim.
