....the final few ending chapters with the rut thing towards the end was toeing that line between sexy and not ngl but then i was willing to brush it off and enjoy the kink play (the art's hot too so, a bonus) as a one-time/first-time thing. Now, with these side chapters (including the smexy scenes that i read ahead) however... gotta say Ash is rubbing me the wrong way and upping that wee-woo alarm notch with how pushy/forceful/coercive/manipulative he's being :"( he might not be intentionally so, but still, despite the sweet nothings, it feels like Karlyle is being pushed into a corner (not cool, man) and not really being given the choice to say no iykwim (actually better said by another person below me vvv)
Giving the benefit of the doubt, if the author is trying to portray real mutual consent with Lyle "just being tsundere", it is being done poorly smh cuz honestly? i dont truly feel like they're both there. With a dynamic like this, you 2 rlly need to talk it out n agree on a safe word you're both comfortable saying asap cuz this rn? is pushing into not sexy dubcon territory (¬_¬") very not demure, very not green flag behavior

The parents, or in this case, the dad, might not be people you'd like irl, but so far they sure are good characters that I love reading about. Compared to so many other wishy-washy parents that two-dimensionally supports mc in every era-defying actions that they take, making the story seem so easy, self-indulgent and a bit boring, this is much more realistic/interesting and allow us a deeper view into how this society works and the views of that time, which is a good use of world-building through show not tell! Everytime these parents appear, they come with their own opinions, thoughts and actions nurtured by their own upbringing, giving them depth as characters as well as creating intriguing stakes and conflict with the constrasting mindsets of Cain that just all but begs food for thought, and I love it.
And also the fact that they haven't become annoying pig-headed obstacles yet, so I'm still rooting for their appearances because them being there would actually help Cain grow and develop as a character himself (๑•ㅂ•)و✧ It would be much more satisfying to see Cain actually being able to convince them, who are originally people with completely different beliefs, to his side, no?
Oh this is quite a good ending actually! Especially with this cast, cuz one wrong decision would've sparked so much controversy, especially with the complicated circumtances of the main antagonist Anita the witch girl, who's both pitiful and to blame so her punishment can't be too lenient or too cruel (⌒▽⌒) We have each and everyone receive their own suitable end, given what they wanted and the punishment they deserved ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶ This wraps up things n ties up all the knots nicely without needlessly dragging out the drama (i mean, spice is spice but hey peaceful ways is less tiring and honestly i think both girls need to catch a break, they been so strung out yo)
I'm actually pleasantly surprised and pleased that we got a public apology from Aaron, quite frankly had expected that whole fiasco to be swept under a rug, so good boy you're at least a baby step above pretty little pathetic boyfail now lmfao. And gosh i love Regina n Theor's sibling bond, so glad it wasn't just thrown away after they both grew up
