They used towels Ashley went to obtain. It was written in previous chapters when Mildred sent them on an errand to pick up things she needed to clean the dress, like bucket, white wine, and ofc towels. ^^

OMG, no. They used bucket for the time she was pouring the wine over the dress, so it won't spill or splash over the floor. The girls hold the dress up, then she pours the white wine over the stain, and then they let the wine with stain flow into the bucket, as the dress didn't soak entirely, after that Mildred brushed the stain place a bit to get rid of the smell and the rest of the wine. They poured some water to fresh it up, and then... Used towels to dry the dress... In a way it's common sense when you're living in a household with a woman.
