not to get into this again but despite his past trauma he actively helped select an empress to be killed so she can be replaced with that red haired chick

the empress was specifically selected because of her infertility. the plan was that when this gets out, red hair will produce an heir and they will be able to get her to replace the empress. the infertility issue isn't true because papers were fabricated but the emperor and his concubine don't know that. so he went out to select a woman who is infertile so that she can be replaced by someone else he kind of liked but wasn't even in love with. even though most of his trauma comes from his stepmother who also had fertility issues. it's a nasty business and while his trauma and pain is valid and shit's fucked up, he still did all that. he might be regretting it now but like... he still fucked up. not saying he can't be forgiven but he def needs to be held accountable. trauma doesn't give u the right to be a prick to others is all I'm saying

Even though it doesn't give him the right he never got proper treatment for that trauma so he isn't mentally stable neither is the red haired bitch they both need mental help and I sympathize with that.

i mean I agree and I understand but I will not excuse his behaviour regardless. as I said, your trauma is not an excuse for being an asshole and using people for your own benefit. i sympathise with him and acknowledge his struggles but will not overlook his intentions and actions against other people for his own benefit is all

he is at fault but i love him regardless because in the end, when rose dies, he'll become the one emperor in history to treat his wife like a true queen.
