I kinda understand Dojin paying, like he thinks maybe Hyesung would still want her to live comfortably even if he never wants to see her again, and maybe it keeps her away from Hyesung, but letting her see Byul is a betrayal anyway you look at it (the paying is wrong too without consulting Hyesung but i can imagine why, there's no reason for her to meet Byul)
