what does he mean when he says jonghyuk is a returner or something and how did jonghyuk know only that hyeonsung and namwoon should have survived when he's also from the novel himself, unless he magically also read the novel.
And did these characters actually exist before the changed world or did they magically manifest afterwards.

Jonghyuk is the original protagonist of the novel that Dokja reads. As for the returner things, simply saying, he played the novel scenario 2/3 times already

So when he's playing the scenario for the 3/4th time, he noticed there are something different about the plot, which is the survival of Dokja and the death of namwoon, therefore he assumed that Dokja was the abnormal factor that alter the original scenario

I agree with other stuff but about the returner and regression. They are different. That's why the translator that did this got it wrong. Joonghyuk is a regressor not a returner.
