at the very moment she overheard their plot to cut down the spirit tree and she stumbled into the vase i knew the plot was dogshit. the villains are brainless with no real gaol other than profit and the way they want to achieve it is the most absurd way possible. the worldbuilding is mediocre at best and the characters are flat and that's less than a chapter in. the worldbuilding feels like a justification for the fl to be abused and thus saved by the ml and the fl to also save and support the ml and for it to be a "us against the world" type of story. the fact that her seeing spirit is seen as cursed but they worship the spirit tree is the dumbest thing ever, it makes no sense and goes against any and all logic

I would believe more that in time periods like this where they still have class distinction and "slums", most slave men, guards, mercenaries, and men who weren't high-up in the aristocracy were not as subtle when they were "leering" at women.
Like yeah stories with the handsome male leads are nice but for every hot guy, there's like 50 normal guys who aren't as nice to woman and children somewhere in the kingdom.
Especially when the story starts off with MCs dad knocking up multiple woman for heirs and the slave woman background seems from her daughter getting murdered by a man who couldn't keep it in his pants.

I'm sorry but i hate pathetic losers who are so bitter about their unrequited crush that they never confessed that they take it out on their crush for not being a mind reader and expects them to magically get it, fall in love and apologize for never having noticed their feelings all while being one of the reasons they're suffering. idk why there's so many "romances" like this, but it ain't cute

he was married for 2-3 years before they're reunion, during which eunsan's father died. he wasn't married during the time they played hockey together in highschool or when ian went to play in canada, ian is 29 (or 28), he had at least 10 years to confess and by the "following him around like a puppy" comment from eunsan's reporter friends, he's been in love or infatuated for all those 10 years. he had all the time on the world, but he let his love fester into an ugly jealous and obsessive mess with no consideration for eunsan. the first bit of consideration he showed after being an annoying jerk since the funeral was when eunsan had an anxiety attack. it took an anxiety attack for him to think about his behavior.
