This story is really similar with that shoujo manga called Last Game, though the guy was a bit childish at first since the story started in their elementary days but the the story is still cute and the girl is hardworking too. You guys might want to read it if you have time.

You know like any normal person, youd be frustrated if you were forced to get married to someone you don't really like. Thats probably why:
1. He doesnt want to see her(also because he misunderstood her because of that btch)
2. He didnt bother getting to know her(which led him to be surprised after hearing from other people how she doesnt have much clothes, or the fact that shes being mistread by the people around her)
Unlike other MLs, his behavior is much reasonable. He was just simply ignorant. You know other than the fact that she likes him, it always made me wonder why she stayed and it all makes sense, the guy sometimes shows her kindness. Maybe he is kind, but he was just oblivious to the fl's situation.
But then again, thats the very reason why you dont deserve her. You dont love her, you just feel sorry for her

She loved him with all her heart,BUT WISHTRASSSH keeps disppointing her and she was at her limit. When he visited her that night. You can really see that she was really surprised but SHE GOT TIRED OF LOVING HIM AND HELD HER GROUND! Thats my queen right there.

From the hints ive gotten from the story and inturactions we've had with him I think he's obsessed over her because he made her cry a long time ago when she had to "kill" her other brother agin but in illusion form and since he hasn't seen her cry since he's become obsessed with trying to make her upset and cry. Kinnda like heras from "when a villaness loves" but way more sadistic and unforgiving.
