I didnt comprehend it clearly from the middled chapters maybe but Johannes has conditions and wisely chosed the heir, one of it is they has to be an outsider who knows nothing and Johannes has to be the one to guide them personally so there wont be any crisis of thoughts in the heirs head,

Im just guessing when I said Johannes likes the previous empress because of that scene where he was staring at the portrait. But i cant rule out the possibility that one of the reasons why he chose shuli, aside from the fact that he wanted someone to act as a temporary head to guide jeremy, is because she looked so much like the previous empress.
She's really different. Like we expect her to act tough and all but theres that cute side of her like when she becomes happy at the sight of beautiful gowns and tiara. Shes forced to crossdress but she still shows how much she wants to dress up and look pretty like a normal girl and I think thats really cute (≧∀≦)
Dont get me wrong,I like the story. But im still not comfortable knowing that this has a "harem ending". Probably because this is my first time reading one. If anything,I want her to end with Nadricka (≧∀≦)
