the guy who killed the priest was the captain of the imperial knights, he appears later on. i vaguely understand why he did, im pretry sure its bc of the book they were talking about since its forbidden

From what I understand, Jayden previously was the Emperor's aide.
But he only recruited him because he was the empress' person from her past life. And even the loyal one. That's why when the emperor married the empress, he 'gave' back Jayden to her.
But, Jayden in his insecurity complex, look this as a demotion. So he never respects her.
I kinda forgot the detail, but when the embezzlement case happened, Jayden kinda overlooked it and made it as if nothing missing.
So, he doesn't 'involved' just kinda ignored the embezzlement even when he knows what happening.

So basically, while they were dancing, FL's brother was offering to find her a better husband that might suit her tastes because he is currently on opposing sides/has opposing interests with ML when it comes to politics. And with his sister being married to ML, FL's brother isnt able to do anything in particular to ML thus why FL saying that she doesn't want a different husband and that she likes ML makes ML lucky because FL's brother can't do anything to him while they're married.
