My theory is that before he hired her he knew she was an assassin and he got a crush on her- so he hired her to kill him but he knew it would be easy to avoid being killed when she's constantly texting the client when shes about to kill him. Ontop pf that he's probably expecting her to fall in love with him and not be able to kill him- this way he would never have to reveal that he hired her to et close to her

I’m not reading the manga, because of this. As long as I can remember, Lucy is like the sole Main Character of this story. Without her, we wouldn’t have encountered the other characters, because the story follows, most of the time, HER PERSPECTIVE but all we see in the series is NATSU, GRAY AND THE OTHERS DRAGONS SLAYERS and THATS IT. Erza was already overpowered, and Juvia was already strong. Lucy, worked very hard to get here but even though she still is much steps behind the others JUST BECAUSE she is comedic fan service. Like, she has one of the most different powers that I’ve seen in the whole anime world/Manga/Novels and the author just CANT EXPLORE HER POWERS MORE. Yep, she uses summoning a very standard power, but he created a whole world and universe to her power and the setting is super dope too but THATS IT. Her Silver Keys is not as powerful as Caelum or Minor Bear, and she just blatantly uses her golden keys and THATS IT. She doesn’t has any other powers aside from star dress and urano metria, and that’s really sad...

Actually, lucy's celestial power has much more potential than anyone in fairy tail. Her magic Itself is based on stars and time travel too ( like how her mother opened the gate to future for all five dragon slayers to enter) also, her ancestor anna, she was powerful enough to teach the five dragon slayers. Compared to that Lucy's has more potential and she even has the contract with spirit king. In one of the fight in tartarous arc she alone managed to fight off that guy who created a cube and froze each and every member. She was able to take down that person with urano metria ( she lost Aquarius there though) ,where natsu suffered a lot to fight him by himself when they fought for the first time( I forgot the name he looked like a half human half tiger). I hope her magic gets the justice it deserved all this time in this arc. Since, it's about moon godess and we can relate moon to zodiac's.
