yes. after i finished getting caught up on ch 30, i reread the thing from the beginning. upon first read, we think, using our irl logic, that mokyeon is high key raping nanjo. if we apply fantasy logic, such as nanjo hard = wants mokyeon, then yes, nanjo actually makes it pretty clear after the first winter they get thru together that he’s into mokyeon. once the seasons change & you see the cherry blossoms, that’s when mokyeon visits nanjo at work and we get more context that nanjo likes him. nanjo literally asks mokyeon if he will leave seonhwa alone if nanjo gives up on seonhwa. mokyeon took that to mean that nanjo was giving up BOTH seonhwa AND Mokyeon, which is one reason mokyeon turned him down. the other being that this was the turning point for mokyeon realizing his feelings for nanjo — he wasn’t certain until after that time with nanjo. when mokyeon turned him down u can see nanjo is a lil disappointed. also, the shower scene after nanjo gives mokyeon the banana earring, nanjo kisses mokyeon for the first time & literally jumps mokyeon’s bones lol i think the reason the last chapter is coming off like nanjo doesn’t want to be with mokyeon is bc we gotta keep in mind that nanjo has been straight to this point. nanjo was cool with topping seonhwa bc it doesn’t call his masculinity into challenge the way bottoming does (outdated fragile masculinity, but then again, being out and gay is still difficult in asian cultures). also, notice nanjo is ONLY unkind to mokyeon. to us that feels like it’s bc nanjo doesn’t like mokyeon, but the truth is, that’s the only person nanjo is 100% himself with, including bottoming. so to be outed to seonhwa means that the things mokyeon & nanjo are doing are real, which also makes them real, & tears away nanjo’s carefully curated facade, which after what seonhwa has allowed nanjo to think about mokyeon & mokyeon constantly losing his shit and tearing into nanjo, nanjo thinks mokyeon is the unsafe one. nanjo kinda knows he has feelings for mokyeon, & he’s actually been the first to express them to mokyeon & lowkey been rejected multiple times, he doesn’t wanna tee himself up for mokyeon to hurt his feelings again. nanjo is lowkey obsessed with mokyeon, he’s just terrified to put his heart in mokyeon’s hands.
