actually it's not technically a timeline, everything that transpires on 2nd and 3rd season is because the first life. treat it as a route where klopp or aeroc remembers.
nah, it's more like both og!klopp and og!aeroc regressed & got separated into two different timelines for another chance at happiness because they couldn't find it with each other in the 1st timeline.
in the second season, we get to see OG!aeroc deal with the guilt and trauma from s1, then finally get the happiness he deserved with new!klopp who actually values and loves him without all the conflicting anger and resentment that og!klopp had. new!klopp took the chance to pursue his feelings and went the distance that og!klopp never did. it's a happily ever after for them both (with kids and all!)
the third season starts exactly at the same point the 2nd season started. this time we get to see OG!klopp retain his memories & harass clueless new!aeroc in the rose garden. then og!klopp slowly come to terms with his feelings for aeroc in S1 & unpack not just his resentment for him, but also guilt and shame of what he put og!aeroc through. Eventually he allows himself to love new!aeroc and find his own happiness in a way that he never could in the first timeline. still, he keeps a twinge of regret and longing for the aeroc that he first loved and could never meet again.
