i feel truly sorry for the ML because i know he isn’t mentally stable for anything, ofc he will be messing up. that guy still has a trauma and those traumas are hard to get over. i’m here for the FL btw but the ML is a character i can understand and relate to at some point so i don’t hate him
I honestly agree it’s him I pity the most honestly because and unstable mental health can feel even worse than death itself, but regardless actions have consequences whatever the situation may be

my mental illness gets worse whenever i read something like this but i ENJOY these types of stories a lot. i love suffering and then getting a happy ending, these stories tend to satisfy me for some reason.
