I feel like this story is going to be one of those that the top is super toxic to their partner. When their partner tries to leave or they do, they have this "awakening" and go after their now ex partner. And after all the things that the top has done, they will get back with them.
I hope it doesn't go that way, but if it does... I'm still going to stick around cuz I like the art style. And it's not my place to criticize a story that I didn't create, I have to choices leave or stay, I'm staying.
