I disagree. I think that throwing away or refusing a sandwich is not the same as getting hit in the guts. You have every right to refuse something. And of course the other party has the right to get angry but not attack you. Violence is never the answer. In my opinion it can only be used in a defensive way as you have no other choice but to protect yourself or your loved ones.
I don't remember the insulting part but even if it did happen it doesn't justify the kick in the stomach.
