Interesting... I rarely hate the female leads in these stories but I really don't like her. Maybe because I also have a mother who is codependent on me and absolutely reliant on me for financial security. But her whole "I gotta go back for my mother" thing is pissing me off.
It's not that she desperately wants to escape this world and go back to her previous world. But whenever she has a sense of belonging, the excruciating chest pain reminds her of her previous world.
