Look, everyone is different and as long as it’s reading u do u, I was confused why u sounded disappointed. Yaoi is a messed up genre, but what you read also speaks to who you are in some way. I can’t stand the shotacon genre, nor child rape, I only stand rape(sometimes) because it’s too common in yaoi and u can’t escape it, but I’m also very aware that it’s wrong and I almost always just skip it. So as long as you aren’t doing anything similar to what u read, you are okay. As for the disgusting thing, to each their own, if others find what u read disgusting that’s that, it’s not sad, it’s not necessarily right, it’s an opinion.

You’re right humans are really good at giving their opinions, that’s why talking and writing were invented. I 100% agree in respecting others opinion, but you can’t be afraid of ppl disagreeing with you and then shutting their opinion down just b/c u don’t like it. I thought everyone handle this one nicely, the discussion was had and some agreed with messed up mangas being their thing b/c of thrill(I’m summarizing) while others wasn’t their cup of tea(like me). As for why take it so seriously, some ppl see the discussion differently and don’t like talking such serious topics like a joke b/c it’s in fiction and kinda normalized(I’m assuming this is a reason, but I’m sure there are many others).
