So basically his routin/jinx thing are his responses to each of his traumas I thought that was a pretty intresting detail to his character. Dam like get a therapist. Also don't hate me but I feel like his backstory sounds like the typical macho reddit man backstory.

Yall it's not even that bad literally him and Dan went through nearly identical situations and many of you will make the argument that jaekyungs dad was a big part of it and dan didn't have it so bad but in the end they both suffered AND both had a parental figure dan turned out pretty good but jaekyung was a jerk through and through AND he still hasent apologized for ANYTHING.
okay i sooo hate jaekyung too, i’m not trying to defend him with this comment but that’s literally what sets them apart. yes, their upbringing is similar, but jaekyung’s own dad who he grew up with was an abuser and his mother left. dan had only his grandma who at least tried her best to nurture him. (i’m not trying to make it sound like a competition of whose childhood was worse btw, it’s just that i understand why jaekyung is the way he is, and why that kind of attitude is still stuck with him in the present. againnn, i’m really not trying to defend horseface so pls don’t give me bs about defending horseface. i’m totally for being able to sympathize with a character but still seeing how flawed their personality is) i do hope jaegeng realizes how wrong he’s been acting but not without feeling any pain. ^^
I agree with you, let's also keep in mind the fact that Dan DID have his grandma but, he still grew up being attacked by loansharks and stuff, while later on people started protecting jaekyung so they both knew what was right from wrong. Wait you know what honestly when it's all said and done they grew up fine the thing is he was just a jerk to Dan and still is being at the moment, why we all trying to justify his past trauma for his present actions?
