Linus Woflake loved Rapiel (the dead wife of Clough) and he knew about the revenge Clough unleashed on Aeroc so let the two of them destroy each others, just be a standby. Rapiel knows about Aeroc from Hugo, his investigation led him to Linus. Rapiel seduces Linus to find out the whole story. Linus plants a spy among Clough's house staff to keep an eye on Clough and look into Rapiel's death.
