i bet when this comes back with season 2 it won’t pick up where we left off right away. the author loves doing flashbacks so it’s gonna flash forward slightly to the future perhaps with luke contemplating about what he’s done or discussing with his friends again and then later on in the chapter it’ll actually flash back to this scene. but it’ll just be the prep so the actual part will be the second chapter or even later

I understood it to be throw up/acid reflux or smth of that nature since he had just had a child and had been abusing pain meds, so he’s definitely not in a good physical condition
