I feel like the sentiment is because he "let" himself get caught up in a situation like this. For a "BDSM" guy, the ML sure is shit at it. The uke came to him looking for a specific thing he was always honest about since the beginning. He tried drowning him since the first time! But now he's toning it down because he "caught feelings" which wasn't supposed to happen in the first place, they set rules ( which he broke by the way) for a reason.
The uke was spiraling. And instead of having a normal talk, the seme tripped out, beat the fuck out of him, and blamed him for it.
How is he the bastard in this this? If anything, he's been misread and blamed.

I don't know the reason for others but here's mine - just coz a character doesn't force themselves on another doesn't auto make them likeable. That boy was one reddit rant away from being an odd mix of sadboi and incel, just make it specific to the uke instead of women, his attitude and reactions to the MC's contemplations (wc are mostly valid btw) were just not it. Retain his behavior and change his character design to a stereotypical dweeb and you'll quickly see what a creep the dude is.

I don’t hate him, but I can totally see where people are getting mad (￣∇￣") he’s kind of a stalker for a majority of the story and there were a few dubious consent moments in my opinion (even if it wasn’t out-right sex, would still be considered sexual harassment. He’s lucky MC had feelings lol).

nah, he accepted coz he didn't want to lose ML in his life since he practically said date him or he'll stop being his friend. That kind of mind game might not be as strong as the physical abuse that red/black flags ML do to their ukes, but it's just as bad. If he truly loved him, he would've been more conscious of his feelings and contemplations, assure him or even backing out if necessary to give him peace; but nah, gotta keep going with being a territorial creep instead and insist on what HE wants not what MC wants. This the kind of alpha bullshit MLs that only appeal to tweens fr.

For me ... It's just time waste. Annoying FL.... Puppy ML... But ML's Parents story is too beautiful & pathetic one I have to say. TBH I didn't like the FL & the amount of injustice the villain got... Main Villain is the Queen for me. For her selfish wishes she ruined everything but then came to play victim. urgh....
