I know everyone is sad about her not evolving, but it doesn't mean that she won't ever heal. I think the author did a good job showing the cyclic nature of bulimia. I'm also impressed that even after losing the weight, she was never portrayed as supermodel.
There's a lot of ways to interpret the ending. You could say she's doomed to be bulimic and die from it, or that she will eventually learn to heal. This story isn't about the heroine, it's about the how eating disorders are a mental illness. No amount of eating or starving will heal the scars underneath. Life has been cruel to the heroine, now cruelty is all she can show to herself. That's why her heart is "fat". It's how she conceives herself, and it will stay like that no matter how big or small she is. Waiting for a prince charming to heal us is never the solution, waiting for fantasies to come to us won't work either. It's a very cruel world. I wish us all happiness.
But the romance and story doesnt hold up.
Like for their romance to be convincing the author has to PROVE that the uke is a better fit for the seme. Or maybe even introducing a parallel world concept which would make their love story seem less “faulty”. Like you gotta convince me that they are the ENDGAME.
The main issues lies in the fact that eveything is TOO convenient for the uke, and he knows it, which is why hes a nervous wreck. Huge imposter syndrome on his side genuinely sets the relationship up for failure.
Also the only thing that made them grow close was the murder issue. Like before that, the seme was totally UNATTRACTED to the uke. Then magically after the incident, he was head over heels.
That kind of progression just isn’t logical but hey im always glad to see yaoi authors tackle different themes.
Time travel can be used to explore historical differences, human psychology, butterfly effect.
Instead of challenging our ideas of there being a single reality, or a best outcome, the story is kind of a tale of wish fulfillment (for the uke), making it feel like a dream and ultimately, weak

The best
No wait I meant to like im sorry
All good love
