If you really want to get the better understanding of the story it's better to read the novel as there are some scene they will cut off in the manhwa. But if you're a person that don't like to read novel then, it's oky for you not to read the novel. It's really recommended to read the novel because I think in the novel we can truly understand from Chase and Josh point of view because in the manhwa they tend to simplified it to accustomed to the manhwa setting. In the novel they tell all the details and we will slowly understand and know why Chase are behaving that way.
