When a person is in-denial of their feelings, they tend to lash out at other ppl with a similar situation to them; they may do this intentionally or unconsciously. In this case, I have a feeling he is not aware, but is starting to become aware since he gets triggered by that girl crushing on the pink haired fella. Not everyone acts like this, but it does happen xD I think it's their way of coping? It's not really a healthy habit, but I assume they just can't control their emotions well.
