Athletes can be quite fat on top of being super muscular, and it seems he's one of that kind. Especially in judo or other combat sports, there are so many differents bodies. He's probably usually competing in the heavy class, with the bigger and stronger ones

Nah you can tell he doesn't have a dry body. He looks too healthy for that and isn't on a strict diet that makes a body dry. He has a good natural layer of fat. Just take a look at his ribs or plump pecks. The real problem here might be the lack of skills of the artist. It's hard to draw thick and strong bodies without making them look made of only muscles. If you know anything about professionnal sports and athletes, or even diets and muscles, you know that guy has fat. He's literally in the heavy class, that says it all. The artists just struggle drawing that, it's pretty common tbh
