I honestly can’t blame the priest. He’s only looking out for the empire and wanting to keep it safe, he chose protecting millions of lives instead of one child. HOWEVER, I can blame him for being a bastard ! He’s being annoying asf, and no one should try to take a child’s freedom and life away without knowing what they went through in the past.
