I mean didnt adults joke about that to youngsters. plus, by dragon years, Aiden was just a kid too. He didnt start having romantic feelings nor did he admit it was his first love when she was a kid. He only started blushing etc after he met her again. I would see this as a childhood friend turned crush scenario. Its just weird cos we have to think in terms of dragon age
