Khaol does love kaveri so much that he became like that. He chose to be a despicable man to get back kaveri since they both had it rough and tragically died because of the f*cking emperor. Yes hes a scumbag for treating river like that, but hes just blinded by his love for kaveri. I do think that all of them deserve better exept for goddess of earth. I ship river and god of hell so much. As for kaveri and khaol i dont know cauz kaveri seems tired and want to just move on to next life. I hope khaol will learned his lesson well.
