the author was likely rushed by the publisher to end this. the publisher is shueisha they tend to do this when they think a series doesn’t have enough readers or isn’t popular enough. this is why I always read their stuff on official platforms (manga plus, viz & shonen jump)media since all their manga can be read for free anyway.
