the two main characters having the least rationality of them all is killing me ..
wow, yet another fucked up stalker pedo that gets handled in the lightest way possible. bro literally has an all-round wallpaper of a child and attempted to use their imbalanced power dynamics to threaten captivity. what the actual fuck.
the way this story could end in the next chapter if they just um… talked. there’s no reason for jichan not to straight up just explain why he seemingly abandoned mido right then and there, and there’s especially no reason for eugene to make this guy all confused asf about why he’s being confined in a situation stealthily related to mido.
that took a way darker turn than i initially thought.. incredibly messed up. id be crushed to no end if i was in mc’s position.
i feel bad for the mob though. he most definitely got used in the moment. it didn’t seem like siwoo had the least bit on interest in him the whole entire time
can we also talk about how this so-called justice doesn’t even make sense if dohyeok’s rapist is just roaming around freely with zero consequences? for some reason dohyeok has to be the one that suffers the most when he was the most well written character that had a potential to turnaround. author kind of killed their most realistic depiction of narcissism and ignorance?? i can’t tell if this side story’s purpose really was just to foreshadow how he did get abandoned by everyone in the end due to his toxic behavior when there’s other asshole characters that get no repercussions..
okay i’ve been waiting for the english translation to come out to say this but this ending is absolute dog shit totally not angry because it left the largest hole in my heart but anyway. i honestly would’ve not given a single crap if dohyeok and siwoo didn’t end up together; if anything, it actually would’ve made sense since their relationship is so complicated, bumpy, and built up purely on toxicity - sure, would’ve felt much more content if they did but that’s not the point. what i’m so extremely upset about is how dohyeok’s severing anxiety and newly developed ptsd doesn’t get addressed even once. siwoo did notice dohyeok suffering from some symptoms of his anxiety and ptsd but it quite literally never actually gets discussed. it wouldve been a pretty solid story with deep character development if siwoo turned out to just be a stepping stone for dohyeok's journey to changing for the better by realizing his wrongdoings and maybe just maybe say sorry to suha just ONCE. his apology doesnt even need to be accepted or considered, if only he had just admitted how badly he treated suha, it wouldve put dohyeok on a path where we could see his character changing positively. im probably just a little too worked up on a missed opportunity for such a good character development arc but its likely that this side story was never meant to have an actual ending and more of a "welp, he got what he deserved!" since everyone really did leave him in the end due to his asshole behavior but this final chapter is just way too open and we're led to believe he'll just never have the chance to heal and redeem in any capacity from anything because he never got that final push to self evaluate and grow.
NAHHH “LOVE ME”?! THATS WHAT SUHA ASKED OF YOU FUCKIN HYPOCRITE
THIS MAN DRIVES ME CRAZY
omfg .. siwoo is literally directly telling him to go and get therapy.. GO STPP CRAWLING INTO HIS HOSPITAL BEFD
there’s no effing chance they’re gonna end up together in a healthy way with 2 chapters left
i just find it so funny how him not caring about genders was listed off as one of the problematic things about him ah yes; he’s a crazy psycho and also.. BISEXUAL?! shit, that’s terrible!
alright.. add anger management to the therapy list
nahhhh lock that bastard up i swear i never see someone doing something so painfully illegal - drugging, kidnapping, intent to hold hostage - face actual consequences like going to jail in these stories just because they’re more more relevant characters or smthin
sorry but this is by far one of the most interesting story & characters i’ve encountered dohyeok was born and raised as an asshole so he literally has no idea how to open up and communicate romantic or genuine feelings when he wants to pursue them. instead, he abuses his power and uses his usual asshole tactics to force what he wants instead of achieving them fairly and authentically.. and that makes him have LAYERS bro
i genuinely hate the vivid thought and visual imagery of someone thoroughly licking up a pair of parasite-infected feet but hey, at least he’s proving his devotion i guess.
this ending was so abrupt ?! there was so much buildup for really deep shit and then it just gets cut off in one chapter OKAY..
why the hell is choi heesung like the only significant character i like in this story when he first got introduced, i was scared to the core that the author was just going to pull out a long, tiring love triangle like an accordion but bro backed down and moved on the moment he got firmly rejected after taking doc on multiple dates with no other ill intention.. he just wants love :( can we skip everything back to him, please. thanks.
transman here i think the chapter was actually handled pretty well. yeah, the characters were being extremely transphobic by nitpicking customers, assuming who’s trans or not, and then going as far as making bets about who’s right (plus the whole talking about trans people like they’re scary and deceiving), but that’s more than likely the whole purpose. most aren’t progressive and out of touch about trans topics and the author proved that by revealing that neither of the girls they bet on turned out to be the transwoman, basically calling them out for making assumptions like that. i’d like to add that i think it’s also a very nice choice to never actually reveal the transwoman as it implies that trans people can look like anybody and that being trans is something that happens on the inside. i really appreciate this representation as trans people are practically a foreign concept within this genre and are often much more misrepresented in other comics. like, it was actually so shocking that a manhwa artist used the word “cis”…
overall, the slice of life chapters are quite fun as they highlight the characters’ experiences at their job while meeting all kinds of customers and being able to learn and grow from those encounters. it’s a good addiction to further develop the whole setting.
i torture myself on what i read.
i read every once in a while. meaning im very behind on reading.
i am sometimes picky with stories and rate based on my opinion
some people here really need help.
