This is what I found to be missing from most stories with romance. The reasons for falling in love are often very stupid and superficial: "she was nice to me once 10 years ago" "she's iNtErEsTiNg and not like other girls" ... or the whole love at first sight thing. I usually switch my brain off because thinking about it too much would break the immersion, but really, actual good emotional connections are so rare to see and once you find them they're such a treat!
