I agree with you. I feel that way and never got disturbed by Hal’s behavior towards her. They grew together and he is fond if her, he likes her behavior and her mind. I think he can see her as an equal while talking but that doesn’t mean he sees her sexually and he never gave any impression of wanting her in “that” way. So, in my opinion, calling him a pedo is improper.
