Are y'all forgetting that mc is losing his memories? He can't even think hard about anything if not he gets all sick again. He forgot what the story title is. How his real family looks like. How his schoolmates looks like. Almost everything from his original life. He's acting like that bcs when you're rlly from a terrible family, you'd want the good family that others are in to be appreciated. Mc forgot the title, so to him the brother saying the title of the story was like some random words spewing out.
Also mc is just more focused on the fact the parents in the story rn that they have are rlly sweet parents that rlly take care of them. He just wants the brother to acknowledge that and not make them worry as he used to have terrible parents. When you're focused on one thing, u tend to forget the details of others.
