Why Rojer needs to send money to the institution? Is it for his mother? but I thought his mother remarried (she seems never give a fuck about her husband and Rojer so her husband's death shouldnt affect her emotionally right?). And who dies one year ago? If that so why he just stop sending money recently instead of stop one year ago? and why he is afraid to read the letter? What about the letter from his mom? what is Reno read from that?

Okay, so the person who went into the institution was sensei's mother. He felt bad that sensei died, and felt it was his fault. So, he started paying for her stay there. Because he always sent the check's anonymous until the last one they could not send out her letter. When he sent the last one, he received a letter and call learning she died a year ago. They would have told him earlier and sent the letter to, but they didn't know who he was. That's why it was so late.
The letter at the end was from the grandmother of the sensei and she was the one in the institution she went in there after her grandson died and had no next of kin so rojer felt that he should send money an take care of her as he blamed himself for his father's and sensei death, hope this help u a little :)
